The new legal package comes at a time when just one in eight small businesses believes that lawyers provide a cost-effective solution to legal problems, according to the Legal Services Board.
Tamsin Eastwood, Senior Associate, Corporate and Commercial team, Stone King Cambridge said: “We recognise the importance of certainty on fees to our clients, whilst not compromising on the quality of legal support. Reliable, accessible and good value legal services are as important to an SME and OMBs as bank finance. Our expert team can help SMEs and OMBs with all aspects of establishing and developing a business to reach their full potential, no matter what size the organisation.”
Offering bespoke retainers, the new package allows clients to access the firm’s services at a regular cost. For a fixed monthly or quarterly fee, clients may make an unlimited number of calls to specific members of the Corporate and Commercial team identified to suit the client’s circumstances. Each retainer is set at an agreed fee relative to the client’s anticipated needs.
Eastwood explained: “Issues can lie dormant for a long time before wakening to cause major problems, taking up management time and creating commercial difficulties. Regular health checks - covering a number of issues including IP and employment are offered for a fixed price - can help to avoid this.
“Legal matters can cause undue concern and worry. So, we are offering a free 30 minute legal workshop to help SMEs and OMBs decide whether there is a real cause for concern. I much enjoy working closely with the many SMEs and OMBs that constitute such a significant proportion of this vibrant business community.”
