The National Student Survey (NSS) results for 2014 have been published, with 321,000 final-year students responding. One hundred and fifty-six higher education institutions took part.
Students returned several positive reflections on Anglia Ruskin. Those polled said 91% of its “staff are good are explaining things.”
Anglia Ruskin’s lecturers are rated among the most enthusiastic and interesting in the country. Eighty-seven percent of staff had “made the subject interesting” - in the top quarter of universities nationwide - and 90% of staff were said to be enthusiastic about what they are teaching.
A total of 85% of Anglia Ruskin students agree that their course has helped them present themselves with confidence, while 86% believe their communication skills have improved. Eighty-seven percent said their course was intellectually stimulating compared to 85% sector-wide.
Richard Andrews, Deputy Vice Chancellor at Anglia Ruskin University, said: “When you look at these NSS results, it is no wonder that nine out of 10 of our graduates are in employment or further study. We equip our students with the right skills to find employment and it is no surprise that applications to Anglia Ruskin University are increasing for the sixth consecutive year.”
Professor Madeleine Atkins, Higher Education Funding Council for England Chief Executive, said: “I’m delighted to see record levels of student satisfaction this year, as well as marked improvements in satisfaction with assessment and feedback over the last decade.
“The NSS is the largest survey of its kind in the UK. Over the last 10 years it has helped over two million students to make their voices heard about the things that matter to them and has been fundamental to driving change in our universities and colleges.”
