Survey investigates reopening of the high street

With the welcome news of pubs, restaurants, hotels and hairdressers among businesses allowed to reopen in England on the 4th July, South Cambridgeshire District Council is urging all customer-facing SMEs to complete a short survey to share experiences and concerns about reopening, which the council will use to inform the support it offers to businesses over the coming months.

The Council will be drawing on funds made available to support the reopening of the high streets made available by the European Regional Development Fund.  It is in the process of recruiting High Street Business Support Officers who will be visiting customer-facing businesses within the district to provide one-one support.

Even before Covid-19, one of the Council's priorities was to support local businesses.  The need is now even more pertinent, with the negative effects of closing many businesses has left on the local economy. The Council is keen to promote the ‘shop local, shop safe’ message to give shoppers confidence to revisit the high street and start reinvigorating the local economy.

The survey takes just five minutes to complete and can be accessed here>>>
