Take some time and enjoy a learning experience

Learning is not only beneficial to your career and self esteem, it can also be fun. Why not take some time out from your busy schedule - as little as half a day - to take advantage of one of Cambridge Network's forthcoming Learning Collaboration courses?

Later this week, Improving Personal Impact and Influence on Thursday (November 12th) at The Møller Centre (Storey's Way Cambridge CB3 0DE) is a one day workshop that will help you consider both verbal and non-verbal communication when getting your points across.

It will cover the importance of understanding others and their personalities, to then adapt your own behaviours to connect more effectively with others. An Insights profile will form part of the workshop and provide an opportunity to discuss your influencing style.

Presentation Skills:Intermediate on Thursday and Friday 26 & 27 November (a host venue is sought) is a two-day workshop for individuals who want to master and/or brush up on the essentials of presenting. The workshop gives a blend of scientific theory and practical exercises to build skills and confidence within a supportive environment.

This workshop takes full account of where you are in terms of presentation experience and current commitments, and focuses on the requirements of each new group. This person-centred method of working gives everyone the opportunity to address their own needs. We help you incorporate real-world proven and researched methods into your own style to develop effective presentations.

Delegates usually spend Day 1 on issues connected with the person, such as confidence building and non-verbal communication to help convey authority. Day 2 concentrates on criteria for capturing attention through verbal communication and content, structuring a talk for maximum impact and retention, and techniques for engagement and memorability

Everyone will have the opportunity to be filmed, and to see and hear themselves present, which is a great tool for self-awareness and development: learning about your own style, what works well and what you need to improve.
