On Tuesday 25 September 2012, Workplace Law MD, David Sharp, will join a panel of experts to discuss the growing market of South Africa, and outline his recent experiences setting up an office in the city of Port Elizabeth in the East Cape.
South Africa is one of Africa’s fastest growing economies, showing 2.7% growth in the second quarter of 2012. It is a market with significant opportunities for UK companies across a range of sectors, including high value and infrastructure opportunities which form part of the South African Government’s agenda - valued at £90bn over the next four years.
With expert input from the South African High Commission and UKTI South Africa, this event will help you understand the opportunities to develop your business in the Gateway to Africa, the attractiveness of South Africa to UK businesses and how to engage with business locally. As well as looking at the opportunities and advantages to be found working within the country, this networking event will also include practical case studies, including one on Workplace Law’s recent experiences in the continent.
Says David Sharp:
“UKTI has proved to be a brilliant source of information and guidance in helping Workplace Law achieve our international growth ambitions. With their help, we managed to secure funding to research the South African market place and ultimately to open an office there.
“The road to international expansion has been a bumpy one even with UKTI’s assistance, and I’m really looking forward to sharing the practical lessons we’ve learned in setting up in South Africa.”
