Top technician bags £500

A former student of CITB-ConstructionSkills at Bircham Newton, Norfolk and the College of West Anglia has been judged ‘Best Institution of Civil Engineers Technician Candidate’.

Conor Glover (20) will also receive £500 at the Institution’s annual awards ceremony in October.

On leaving college in 2009 with an NVQ level 3 in Construction Contracting Operations, Conor joined Skanska Civil Engineering and currently works in Doncaster.

He said: “I am absolutely delighted to have been awarded the Jean Venables Medal. Winning this will go a long way to saying thank you to all the people who have put their time into my development and those who have supported me throughout my career so far.

“The amount of effort put into developing engineers by Skanska, ICE and the industry in general is amazing and has inspired me to do likewise.”
