Two of the region’s oldest businesses come together to assist families

Birketts is delighted to announce that it has formalised a partnership with the East of England Co-op to provide probate services to clients of its Funeral Services division from 22 January 2018.

Commenting upon the partnership, Louise Long, Partner and Head of Probate in Birketts' Private Client Team in Ipswich, said: “There can be a lot to think about when you are dealing with the loss of a loved one and it’s important that matters are dealt with professionally and sensitively. The East of England Co-op Funeral Services has over 60 branches throughout the region to provide that support.”

She continued: “Like the East of England Co-op, our history is rooted in the East of England and spans more than 150 years. We also share many of the same values and understand the importance of reliability, approachability and trustworthiness in our relationships with our clients. We’ve therefore come together to help both organisations offer that essential support.”

Andrew Dawes, Head of Specialist Retail at East of England Co-op, who is responsible for Funeral Services, said: "Dealing with the death of a loved one is never easy and we wanted to offer our clients access to high-quality, specialist, legal expertise that they can depend on in their hour of need. We are delighted to have sealed a formal partnership with Birketts’ award-winning Private Client division.”

“They are recognised nationally for delivering exceptional standards and advising private clients on a broad range of issues relating to estates and private property, tax planning and family matters,” concluded Andrew.
