The one year contract, which has significant renewal and expansion potential, is part of a greater $11.5m partnership between ISR Transit and Broward County that will include automatic vehicle location, computer aided dispatch and provide real-time information on every bus on the network and to every one of the County's 4,500 bus stops.
Passengers will be able to access the real-time information on personal computers, smartphones and via the planned 100 signs to be installed at the busiest stops. Applications will also be available for download, and customers will be able to text or call to receive up-to-date information as well.
Richard Green, Ubisense Chief Executive Officer, said: "We are delighted to be selected by the leading transit solution builder ISR Transit for this prestigious project."
"ISR Transit solutions for the transportation industry are highly advanced and include Automatic Vehicle Location, Computer Aided Dispatch, Operations and Fleet Management and Real-Time Passenger Information System based on ISR hardware and their deployment of our software for this project is further endorsement that Ubisense's real time location intelligence solution is best in class."
This represents the third award with ISR and follows the recent successful joint implementation made with the RTL transit authority in Montreal.
