University Arms, Cambridge Launches a Two-Day Summer Art Pop-Up

Calling the culturally curious to Cambridge to celebrate East Anglian art in this unique pop-up event ‘In The Frame’

University Arms hotel, Cambridge is proud to announce a cultural collaboration with local institutions artEast, Skymeadow Gallery and Nicholas Holloway Fine Art.

Set to impress art fanatics, the ‘In The Frame’ pop-up will take place at the hotel on Thursday 26th and Friday 27th August and invites locals and visitors alike to get their cultural fix as the historic ballroom is transformed into an art installation, celebrating talent born and bred in East Anglia.

‘In The Frame’ brings together an eclectic mix of classical and contemporary arts showcasing various skills from portrait painting to sculpting.

During the two-day event, there will be ‘In Conversation’ talks with Charlie Hart and Simon Carter. These art experts will open their creative minds; Hart, the curator of Skymeadow Gallery will speak about the work of Benton End Artist, Lucy Harwood and Carter, who represents artEast Gallery, will talk guests through his work and inspiration. Furthermore, guests can experience art in action as Will Topley is the hotel’s Artist in Residence for the duration of the pop-up. Topley will be painting the interior and exterior of the historic landmark hotel throughout the two days.

University Arms invites the culturally curious to drop-in between 10am and 7pm each day and of course, the team at Parker’s Tavern are on hand for delicious refreshments.
