Mills & Reeve has been appointed as sole legal provider to The University of West London (UWL). Mills & Reeve was successful in a competitive tender process against four other firms. UWL is a leading modern university in London with a 95 per cent employment rate for students six months after graduation. It is currently involved in some exciting research, including helping develop a new pan-European Holy Grail tourist route.

The university also won the Outstanding Human Resources Team at the Times Higher Education Leadership & Management Awards 2014, which recognised the work done by the university on its new employment framework, developed to reward excellence in teaching, research and enterprise.

The successful Mills & Reeve team included Claire Clarke, the firm’s new managing partner, and partners Nicola Brown, Gary Attle, the firm’s education sector head, Richard Noble and Nick Abbott. Nicola, who will lead the newly appointed legal team for the university, said: “The University of West London is forward thinking and has an innovative approach to education. We’re looking forward to working with them.”

Elizabeth Downes, University Legal Adviser and UWL solicitor, added: “We are delighted to have engaged Mills & Reeve whose sector expertise and collaborative culture will support the university’s major projects in the future.”
