Unsure of your next step? Expert advice at the touch of a button

Academics and admissions staff from Anglia Ruskin University will be on hand to provide expert advice during Clearing for people who want to talk through their options.

The Clearing centres at Chelmsford and Cambridge are open from 7am on 18 August, A-Level results day. With applications increasing year-on-year for the fourth year running, Anglia Ruskin is once again expecting a high volume of enquiries across all five faculties.

The Clearing hotline is open already, with BTEC students able to discuss their options, and will have extended hours from 7am until 8pm on A-Level results day. The number to call is 01245 686868 and it will be open until 25 September. Professor Lesley Dobree, Deputy Vice Chancellor at Anglia Ruskin University, said: “Clearing is a time to take stock of all the options available to you and choose carefully. We invite all prospective students, whether they are receiving A-Level results or have made a late decision to attend university, to listen to the advice from our qualified staff.

“Our academics and Professors will also be manning phone lines and available to discuss their courses at our Clearing centres.

“Despite the recent referendum result, the status of EU students currently remains the same. One of the strengths of our university is its international outlook. We are welcoming EU students and encourage them to apply.”

Melissa Wright, 23, has just finished her foundation year studying Pharmaceutical Science having applied to Anglia Ruskin through Clearing. She said: “I can honestly say that if it wasn’t for all the Clearing team’s help and guidance then I wouldn’t be where I am today. I was lucky enough to be offered a place on the course and my future prospects are greater than they’ve ever been.

“The Clearing staff were so helpful and supported me every step of the way, from the first telephone call where they offered me a place right up to my first official day at university.

“I really didn’t think that I would ever have the chance to study towards a degree and that fact that Anglia Ruskin gave me that chance is something I will never forget and always motivates me to work harder.”

Successful applicants will be eligible for Anglia Ruskin’s Books Plus scheme, which allows them to spend £400 on materials to help them with their studies from the on-campus book store, John Smith’s.
