Vicky Ellis gets muddy for charity

Vicky Ellis, Head of Business Support at CUB, is doing her bit for charity, taking part in the Race for Life Pretty Muddy challenge.

This is not your normal race for life 5k run. This is a 5k obstacle course that Vicky will have to traverse. It is going to be no walk in the park and she will have to use all of her strength to overcome all the obstacles in her way.

We all know someone who has been through cancer or their family is going through it and it can be very hard to deal with. That is why Race for Life is dedicated to raising awareness and money for Cancer Research UK. This cause is very close to Vicky’s heart and she had this to say: “Every two minutes someone in the UK is told they have cancer. As the population grows and ages, the number of cases continues to rise. My reason to take part is my Dad, he was diagnosed with cancer about three years ago and because they caught it early he has had treatment and been given the all clear. I don’t know anyone whose life hasn’t been affected by cancer and it’s such an important cause to raise money for.”

Vicky’s race is on 20th September and she encourages people to dig deep and donate as much as they can, big or small, as everything will help.
