Workshop for non-legal managers explores contract law

Are you involved with customer contracts? If you have no legal training but take part in the early stages of negotiating customer contracts, a Learning Collaboration course in January will help you understand the process.

This half day workshop/seminar, which takes place at the Cambridge offices of Taylor Vinters on Friday January 16th is delivered by a senior lawyer and/or consultant who has run the international in-house legal team of a multinational. This prevents an overly ‘external counsel’ approach and will make the content more relevant to people working in a corporate environment.

The course, aimed at mid-level managers, covers:

  • Purpose of a contract in modern corporations; theory and commercial reality
  • Pre-contract paperwork - letters of intent, memorandum of understanding and heads of terms
  • The contracting process; positioning, timetables and driving the deal
  • Contract law basics for managers
  • Insider tips and traps
  • Thoughts on successful contract management.
