ZEISS launched the ZEISS Art Calendar book at the Haus der Photographie in Hamburg's Deichtorhallen exhibition center.
The book combines all six editions of the company's prestigious photographic art calendar that have been published to date. With unusual compositions of the highest standards, the ZEISS Art Calendar has caused quite a stir over the last number of years. Publishing houses specializing in art were drawn to the artistic flair of these photographic productions which are issued exclusively for customers. This led to the idea of the book. Six years, six photographers, six stories told through photographs of twelve prominent actors are featured in this ambitiously designed, large-format book. The event in Deichtorhallen marked the first time for the ZEISS Art Calendar pictures to be exhibited in public.
This large exhibition featuring pictures from the six ZEISS Art Calendars that have been published to date is open to the public at Deichtorhallen until 17 January. Entry is free of charge. Starting with the photography of director and photographer Wim Wenders, the calendar series continues with Bryan Adams, Ellen von Unwerth, Michel Comte, Mary McCartney and finally Douglas Kirkland, who staged the photographs for the 2015 edition. The following renowned actors have also graced the calendar series with their presence: firstly Amber Valletta and Willem Dafoe, then Hollywood greats like Michael J. Fox, Adrien Brody and Patrick Dempsey and top models such as Toni Garrn. The current calendar features international opera stars Cecilia Bartoli and Rolando Villazón.
