RealVNC named as finalist in National Business Awards

Innovative remote access technology company RealVNC has been announced as a finalist in the National Business Awards. RealVNC is one of ten finalists in the Santander Small to Medium sized Business of the Year category.

RealVNC provides powerful VNC® remote access software for desktop and mobile platforms, enabling users to access and fully control one device from another, anywhere in the world. VNC is available on almost every kind of computer or device, making it the most widely ported software application. There are over a billion copies worldwide and VNC protocols (RFC 6143) are an official part of the Internet alongside those for email and web.

Stephen Dury, Managing Director of SME Markets at Santander Corporate & Commercial and shortlist panel member, said “With a remarkable track record in the VNC software market RealVNC has developed a strategy and business model designed for long term success. RealVNC’s outstanding success has been achieved through a relentless focus on R&D; a commitment to people development; and a strong focus on growing the business overseas through its unique and patented technology. With the leadership and team in place, and ground breaking new partnership with Intel, RealVNC looks set to break new frontiers in their sector.”

“It is a huge honor to reach the final of the National Business Awards in the hotly contested small and medium business category,” said Dr Andy Harter, CEO and a founder of RealVNC. “We are innovative, profitable, growing and with international impact, which clearly caught the judge’s eye.”

As the only company worldwide offering licenses to embed remote access technology in third-party products, RealVNC collaborates with leading players in the technology industry, including Intel to integrate VNC on chips for PCs and laptops; and Google, who license VNC technology and expertise to enable remote access functionality from its Chrome products. RealVNC is also at the forefront of innovation in the automotive industry, where it is the standard for integrating smartphones with in-vehicle infotainment systems.

Finalists were chosen from the hundreds of businesses that entered or were nominated for the titles. The winner will be revealed at an awards ceremony on 12 November at the Grosvenor House, London.
