Next generation Xaar 1002 printhead range makes global debut at Inprint 2014

Today at InPrint 2014 (Booth E16, 8-10 April, Hannover Messe) Xaar focuses on the remarkable transformative power of its industrial and advanced manufacturing inkjet technology. In addition to highlighting the new Xaar 1002 printheads launched last month, Xaar launches the Xaar 1002 AMp, a new addition to the range and its first dedicated printhead for advanced manufacturing.

Visitors to the Xaar booth will discover how manufacturers globally are taking advantage of Xaar’s inkjet technology to drive down costs, reduce waste, improve process efficiency and move to just-in-time production.

The Xaar 1002 family provides a choice of printheads capable of jetting drop sizes from 1 pL up to 84 pL for a broad range of applications: from highly precise fine patterning for advanced manufacturing all the way to ceramic tile decoration and printing high viscosity varnishes and high opacity whites onto labels and packaging. Today leading manufacturers worldwide, in sectors ranging from ceramics and labels to direct-to-shape packaging and laminate flooring, choose Xaar printheads because they are extremely precise, exceptionally versatile, incredibly reliable, and designed for high-volume production. Now emerging and cutting-edge advanced manufacturing systems for the production of solar cells, semiconductor wafers and touch screens for tablets and mobile phones are powered by Xaar printheads.

The power of Xaar inkjet technology for a variety of industrial applications will be shown by several companies at InPrint, including: Bergstein Digital BV, Cyan Tec, Hymmen, Integration Technology, INX Digital, Nazdar, Notion Systems and SPG Prints.

In addition, several speakers at InPrint 2014 will highlight the potential of Xaar inkjet technology.  In his Keynote Inkjet: The Key to High Volume Additive Manufacturing/3D Printing’, Neil Hopkinson of Sheffield University provides an insight into how inkjet is core to High Speed Sintering technology and how it will change the way that products are made in the future.

The application and benefits of direct-to-shape digital decoration onto cans and bottles using Xaar printheads will be explored by Volker Till, Till GmbH during his session: ‘Create Value with Digital Decoration in a Rapidly Changing Mass Market’; and Michael Hesse of Hymmen will present Industrial Single-Pass Printing for Decorative Surfaces’ looking at digitally printing laminates for a variety of décor applications. In the presentation Inkjet as an Advanced Manufacturing Process’ Xaar’s Richard Darling explains why Xaar printhead technology has the ability to deliver the very best performance for industrial applications.

“The power of Xaar printheads to transform manufacturing processes is hugely exciting,” says Mark Alexander, Director of Marketing at Xaar and InPrint Ambassador. “Xaar technology has already had a substantial impact on a number of industries but has considerable potential to impact many more.  InPrint, running alongside HANNOVER MESSE 2014, is an ideal event to show process engineers why Xaar technology is so successful and explore how it can benefit their own specific applications.”
