Marshall hosts 'The Great Bake-Off' for Red Nose Day

Marshall of Cambridge entered, once again, wholeheartedly into Comic Relief and at Head Office all of the staff energetically rolled up their sleeves in a baking competition, to bake cakes, which were then subsequently sold in aid of Comic Relief. In total £325 was raised for Comic Relief as a result of some very delicious cakes.

Top prize was won by Jackie Sillery, wife of Steve Sillery, who looks after property matters for Marshall of Cambridge, with some very elaborate decorated muffins in the shape of aeroplanes.  Organiser, Judi Burbidge and Bridget Close shared second place, whilst novice baker Christopher Walkinshaw, the Group Communications Director, scooped third prize!

Judging of the event was conducted by Marcus Elbourne and Jaison Waldock (alias Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry!), Managers of Elior Catering at Marshall of Cambridge

Judi Burbidge who organised the event said: "It was fantastic to have the support of all the Head Office team and to see everyone coming together to take part in this fun event, judged by our very own ‘Paul and Mary’!.  A competitive streak broke through and an amazing array of cakes was produced."

Sir Michael Marshall, Chairman of the Group of Companies said: "Marshall has always prided itself in the very active involvement in the Community and I am thrilled that they have managed to raise so much money for Comic Relief, through such innovative means."
