East Anglian Air Ambulance to commence night operations

Cambridge Airport has announced that, from 18th September 2012, the East Anglian Air Ambulance will be capable of night flying operations to and from Cambridge Airport in order to provide a rapid response to casualties from incidents within the region.

Cambridge Airport’s Deputy Chairman, Terry Holloway, said:  “Some local residents might notice the noise of these additional movements which will only be undertaken outside of the Airport’s normal operating hours in order to satisfy important training requirements for the East Anglian Air Ambulance crews and in direct support of “live humanitarian operations”.”

The East Anglian Air Ambulance has been based at Cambridge Airport for the past four years and Terry Holloway added:  “Marshall of Cambridge, and the Airport, is delighted to be supporting the East Anglian Air Ambulance which plays such a vital role in getting casualties to hospital with the minimum of delay.”
