PA Consulting Group is accelerating and de-risking medical product development

PA Consulting Group’s medical technology team will be at the Medica 2012 trade fair this week ( Wednesday 14 to Saturday 17 November.) They will be discussing their latest medical product developments, including patented technology which marks a step change in Point of Care testing accuracy.

Exacsys, PA’s latest venture company, has developed the high accuracy, low-cost diagnostic technology. Clinical tests have shown that it can reduce total error by half. These errors arise from variability between blood samples or test conditions in blood glucose testing.

Michael Noble, Chief Technology Officer at Exacsys, says: “Exacsys’ ‘live calibration’ technology, which allows each and every Point of Care test to be calibrated according to the test and sample conditions, will enable higher accuracy at low cost.  As more testing is conducted outside central labs, our technology will address the needs of patients and clinicians alike in delivering more accurate results that reduce the risk of inappropriate treatment decisions."

Experts from PA's product development and in vitro diagnostics teams will be on hand to discuss Exacsys as well as how PA is accelerating the commercialisation of medical technologies, with capabilities ranging from human factors to manufacturing scale-up and supply chain management.
