Bango wins Mobile Entertainment Award

Bango is enjoying an excellent year, and continues to be recognised by the mobile industry at large, winning Best Pay By Mobile Company at the Mobile Entertainment Awards 2012.

The seventh annual ME Awards took place at the Royal Garden Hotel in London last week, attracting over 300 senior professionals from all over the world.

The awards were established by Mobile Entertainment, an online news source for the mobile content market, in 2006 to celebrate innovation and success in the industry.

The award was collected by Bango’s VP of Operations Karen Oakley, in recognition of the excellent work of the entire operations team during 2012. In that time Bango has cemented its leadership position in the direct operator billing space, now connecting to more than 90 operators. Karen Oakley said “We’re always glad to be recognized for the work we do. We’ve reached a level of operational strength that allows us to build the number of operator connections very quickly, making frictionless mobile payment a reality for more than a billion consumers around the world. We thank Mobile Entertainment for the award and for a fun evening”.

Katy Phillips, publisher of Mobile Entertainment, said: “It’s been another fantastic year for the mobile content industry and we are proud to be able to recognise the success and achievements of all our finalists and winners with another hugely successful awards night… My congratulations to all the winners”.

The ME Awards winners were decided by a judging panel, drawn from the Mobile Entertainment contacts book and consisting of around 500 execs from all sectors of the business.

On a great night for Bango, it was also given a ‘Highly Commended’ nod in the Most Effective Mobile Payment Solution category at the EMMAs, which were also held in London. This follows hot on the heels of Bango winning the Best Technology Award at the AIM Awards, held in October 2012.
