The new USB Power Delivery specification takes this capability to the next level by delivering up to 100 Watts of charging power to a notebook over the same cable. The new USB Power Delivery specification defines power outputs as high as 100 Watts, far greater than today’s USB 3 specification of 0.9 Watts. This new capability also has application for future DisplayLink enabled USB bus powered monitors enabling even larger screen sizes. DisplayLink’s technology is ready to work in conjunction with the new USB PD specification today.
