Balkan Holidays launches 2014 summer packages from Cambridge

Independent tour operator, Balkan Holidays, the UK’s leading tour operator to Bulgaria, has announced that it will be launching packages from Cambridge Airport, as part of its summer 2014 programme. Balkan Holidays will be offering departures in May and September 2014 from Cambridge Airport to Bourgas, Bulgaria.

The Balkan Holidays programme includes 60 all-inclusive properties, guided coach tours to Bulgaria’s wine and historical regions, spa breaks and golf holidays, and week-long packages will be available from Cambridge Airport departing on 23 May and 5 September 2014. With a lead-in price of £378 per person for seven nights flying from Cambridge on 5 September 2014, holidays to Bulgaria promise to be excellent value for money, with free child places on each departure, subject to availability.

David Surley, head of business & route development at Cambridge Airport, said: We are thrilled to welcome direct flights to Bourgas, Bulgaria. This is another great destination for our travellers in the East of England, who want to experience the beautiful Black Sea coast. Bulgaria is well known for its welcoming hospitality and great value prices, but it also has a fascinating history and is perfect for couples and families alike – we’re thoroughly delighted! This is a truly exciting time for Cambridge and the airport.”

Rupert Diggins, Balkan Holidays Sales and Marketing Manager commented: “We are delighted to offer residents in the East of England quick and easy access to our holidays via these new departures from Cambridge Airport.  The Black Sea coast is a sunbather’s dream. The beaches are ideal for children, who will never be bored in one of the fantastic resorts, whilst the abundant bars and restaurants will ensure that adults will want for nothing. With its incredible, diverse history, the country will appeal to people who want a quieter, cultural holiday experience.”

This new partnership follows Cambridge Airport’s recent announcement that it will be launching four new scheduled flight routes with Darwin Airline to Amsterdam, Paris, Milan and Geneva this September, with connecting flights available to Rome Fiumicino Airport, Leipzig Airport in Germany and Lugano Airport in Switzerland. As well as flights for city breaks, travellers can also book brand new winter ski packages with leading UK tour operator Inghams to more than 18 popular resorts, including Courchevel, Meribel and Val d’Isere in France and Crans Montana, Wengen and Verbier in Switzerland, with convenient flights from Cambridge Airport direct to Geneva every Saturday from December to April 2014. New Inghams’ summer Lakes and Mountains packages will also be available to book in 2014.

Ideally located only three miles from the centre of Cambridge, Cambridge Airport offers direct access from London by rail in just 45 minutes and provides a gateway for travellers in the East of England.
