Look for a golden ticket at Mill Road Winter Fair

One of the annual highlights of the Cambridge calendar takes place this weekend, when the Mill Road Winter Fair celebrates the quirky community spirit and multiculturalism that make this city road so special.

The road is closed on Saturday (December 7th) between East Road and Coleridge Road, so that the many thousands of people who flock to the fair can stroll along the street and see the amazing variety of what is on offer.

Crammed full of independent shops – many of which feature in the latest edition of Independent Cambridge, your unique guide to the incredible range of independent retailers, venues and events available in the city – Mill Road is truly diverse, both in terms of what can be found for sale or to eat, and in terms of who is selling or preparing it.

Chinese and Korean restaurants and supermarkets, cyber cafes and coffee houses, Indian restaurants, an Italian delicatessen, North African, Adriatic and Turkish restaurants and shops selling organic and locally-produced food and other wares sit alongside antique shops, bookshops, bike shops, a butcher's, a baker's and there's probably even a candlestick maker!

As well as the variety of shops, the event includes a food fair, art show and craft stalls, as well as street performers, musicians, dancers and other artists.

Three golden tickets, each worth £100 in cash, are hidden in copies of the Independent Cambridge books on sale at the Fair. Visit the Independent Cambridge stand in the Donkey Green marquee and buy a book for your chance to win. For one day only!
