Workshops offer an introduction to Raspberry Pi

Cambridge's Centre for Computing History is running an exciting 'Introduction to Raspberry Pi' full-day workshop on Sunday February 23rd 2014.

With host  'The Raspberry Pi Guy' aka Matthew Timmons-Brown, you'll learn what the Raspberry Pi is, how to use it, program it and even make it control motors. Matthew is behind the succesful YouTube channel 'The Raspberry Pi Guy' and, with over 18,000 subscribers, he's the perfect person to introduce you to a world of possibilities with the Raspberry Pi.

If you've purchased a Raspberry Pi and don't really know what to do next, then these workshops will be invaluable to you!

Morning Session - 11am to 1pm
What is the Raspberry Pi?
An introduction to the Raspberry Pi, what it can do and how to set it up.
Using the OS
Introduces you to Linux and shows you the basics needed to navigate around the operating system.

Afternoon Session - 2pm to 4pm
Programming the Pi
What is programming? An introduction to Python and how to program on the Pi.
Get Connected
How to make the Raspberry Pi control motors and sense switches.

Places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.

The workshops cost £20 per person (or £30 for two people sharing) for the entire day course. This fee also includes admission to the museum.

The workshops will be held in the newly opened Hauser Studio at the museum which has been kitted out with 16 Raspberry Pis. Please note, children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Workshops cannot be booked individually.
