Got any suggestions on how to prevent accidents that cause brain injury?

Headway Cambridgeshire invites you to take part in an event based on the format of the BBC's The Apprentice on the evening of 7 May 2014 at the Frank Lee Centre at the Cambridge Biomedical Campus from 5-8.30pm.

At the start of the evening, Charlie Norris of Morgan Sindall will discuss a range of accidents associated with the construction industry that result in traumatic brain injury. All you have to do is get together with some of the other participants in the room and come up with ideas either for preventing the accidents from happening in the first place or reducing the impact of brain injury resulting from the accidents -  a bit like the challenges Lord Sugar sets his would-be apprentices.

The evening is a pilot for a larger initiative called Mind Your Head which is a collaboration between Headway Cambridgeshire and the NIHR Brain Injury Healthcare Technology Co-operative (HTC). If a team generates an idea that has commercial potential, they can enter it into the Mind Your Head Pilot Challenge with a view to pitching it to an invited audience in Cambridge in the summer.

Headway Cambridgeshire hopes you will come along and take part. You don't need to know anything about the construction industry or brain injury and you could make new friends and contacts, acquire new skills and have a lot of fun. Everyone is welcome to attend so please feel free to bring your family (including teenagers), colleagues and friends. Light refreshments will be served and there is no charge to participate.

For technology developers, Professor John Pickard will discuss how you can get involved in NIHR Brain Injury Healthcare Technology Co-operative (HTC).
