RealVNC will be showcasing the latest in telematics infrastructure allowing connectivity and interaction between cloud-based applications and vehicles in real-time. The technology provides the opportunity for automotive OEMs and dealer networks to remotely access a vehicle’s dashboard display, and deliver instant diagnostics and assistance to the driver.
Alongside this, RealVNC will also be demonstrating its MirrorLink Certified™ solution, VNC Automotive. The solution enables multiple videos to be streamed to rear seat entertainment screens simultaneously, and from one mobile device. This allows the driver to launch navigation maps whilst passengers can access other applications on the rear screens, such as videos or games. The solution also enables multiple mobile devices to connect to the vehicle simultaneously, with the freedom to stream content from any device.
In an industry where driver safety is vital, VNC Automotive technology allows the mobile device to be controlled from the car dashboard, vehicle bezel keys, or steering wheel switches. There is also a screen blanking option available for any applications which are deemed too distracting to be used on the move.
