SAN JOSE, Calif. – January 17, 2012 – SEMI announced today that G. Dan Hutcheson, CEO and chairman of VLSI Research, is the recipient of the thirteenth annual Bob Graham Award. This award for outstanding contributions in semiconductor equipment and materials marketing was presented today to Hutcheson during the SEMI Industry Strategy Symposium 2012 held in Half Moon Bay, California.

According to the nominating committee, Hutcheson has had a major impact on the industry. Most of the leading firms in the industry rely upon Hutcheson's research services, databases, and consulting services to plan and guide their strategic investments. His email newsletter, The Chip Insider®, contains a mix of industry insider facts, forecasts, market opportunities and threats, as well as industry debates among recipients. His book, Maxims of Tech, chronicles how our Industry’s leaders have innovated — providing key business lessons. Together, his activities empower executives with strategic and tactical marketing value.

“Dan exemplifies the marketing values that the Bob Graham Award celebrates. He has provided research and analytical advice to many leaders in the industry. His involvement in the industry — spanning research, consulting, newsletters, videos, conferences, and an internet forum — distinguish him as a unique and outstanding marketing leader. His efforts inform and educate industry executives while promoting the semiconductor industry to the outside world,” said Denny McGuirk, president and CEO of SEMI. “On behalf of SEMI and its membership, I am pleased to recognize Dan for his contributions to the success of our industry.”

The Bob Graham Award was established to honor individuals for the creation and/or implementation of marketing programs that enhance customer satisfaction and further the growth of the semiconductor equipment and materials industry.
