Music in the Science Park

Xaar and Arts & Business East support free lunchtime concerts on the Cambridge Science Park

As part of the Cambridge Summer Music Festival the grounds of the Trinity Centre on the Cambridge Science Park will be host to free lunchtime recitals from Cappella Artois and Prime Brass.

On the 19th and 26th July, from 12.30 to 1.30pm, employees on the Cambridge Science Park will be entertained courtesy of Xaar, the leading independent developer of inkjet technology, with support from Arts & Business East.

On the 19th July Cappella Artois, a male voice harmony group, will perform vocal jazz numbers and their own idiosyncratic arrangements of folksongs and popular numbers. While on the 26th July the brass ensemble, Prime Brass, will offer a lively repertoire from Gabrieli to Gershwin.

Commenting on the concerts, Xaar's Technical Director, Steve Temple said 'We believe these events will help to develop a real sense of community within the businesses on the Science Park, it will create a relaxed environment to interact and socialise with each other.'

Support received from Arts & Business East encourages new, interesting and sustainable partnerships with business and cultural organisations. Through its New Partners initiative it aims to demonstrate how culture can bring creativity into the workplace.

Xaar pledged its support of the event as part of its sponsorship for Cambridge Summer Recital's twenty-seventh festival, as well as the 'Music in the Park' events, the company has also sponsored the series of 5 concerts entitled 'Mainly Mozart' - celebrating the anniversary of Mozart's birth 250 years ago.
