Two new courses are on offer for library and information professionals

13-10-2009

Elisabeth Goodman, Principal Consultant at RiverRhee Consulting, has teamed up with TFPL to provide two new courses designed to increase the effectiveness of library and information professionals' services and so increase their productivity and improve staff morale.

The courses, both of which are highly interactive, reflect all four of RiverRhee Consulting's main offerings:

Promoting Information Literacy for End Users (13th October) addresses how to focus on your customers' needs (in this case the end users), and is based on making the most of information and knowledge assets.  It uses communication, marketing and change management techniques to ensure that business changes are successfully implemented.

Optimising the use of Internal Team Resources (17th November) again begins by ensuring that the team is focusing on the right things (for their customers).  It then works through a series of tools and methodologies for simplifying and streamlining work processes.  Again, there is an emphasis on how to ensure that business changes are successfully implemented, so that teams can truly make the most of their resources.

When I started RiverRhee I knew that I wanted to make a difference to individuals, managers and teams in the workplace. I thought then it was about sharing the principles, methodologies and tools that would enable them to do their best thinking.

I soon realised that it’s all about people too: if we can understand ourselves and others better, we can learn to communicate and interact with each other better, be more productive and deal with change more effectively.

Both of the above are still part of the mix, but my focus now is on the inner brilliance that is within each of us: how we can choose and learn to express that more vividly and consistently in our work and in our everyday life. I look forward to exploring these three levels with you.
