Xaar, the world’s leading independent supplier of industrial inkjet printheads, wanted to use AR to demonstrate its innovative technology close up and in 3D. Network Design, a Cambridge-based marketing communications agency, took up the challenge and delivered the ambitious project within budget and on a tight 10-week deadline.
The Network Design project team, headed up by Lesley Fettes, brought together its design, animation, 3D modeling, App and AR experts to create the campaign which included 15 AR animations and the Xaar App (Xapp). The campaign was delivered to coincide with a major international exhibition where Xaar’s educational AR was the primary focus on its stand and attracted considerable interest.
Twelve AR trigger images integrated into Xaar’s stand design told the complete Xaar technology story. Visitors could download the AR reader from the Xaar App onto their personal Apple devices, or use the iPADS available on the stand, to view and interact with the various animations. Over 100 downloads of the Xaar App were made in the first 3 days of going live.

The project was delivered on time to very tight deadlines”.
