RealVNC makes virtual appearance at first HDI digital event

RealVNC, the original inventor and global provider of VNC®, will be presenting its latest remote access solutions to a virtual audience of thousands at the first digital event organised by HDI - the leading professional body for the IT service and technical support community.

Visitors will be able to chat online to the RealVNC team throughout the day at the HDI 2012 Digital Experience which takes place on May 22 and is free to visitors. The event includes live webcasts, on-demand training sessions, keynote speaker video presentations, interactive chat groups, prize giveaways and a digital Expo Hall.

During the day, RealVNC will be previewing the latest version of its powerful VNC Enterprise Edition software used by IT professionals for a wide range of applications from IT support and remote monitoring to systems maintenance and training. Visitors to RealVNC’s virtual booth will be able to read a selection of case studies and chat with a special guest from the Alexandria Police Department who will share his experiences of using VNC to support an entire fleet of mobile computers.

Also featured by RealVNC will be a guest chat with Intel’s vPro expert Jake Gauthier, to discuss VNC Viewer Plus that allows IT support staff to connect to a VNC Server embedded directly onto supported computers with Intel® Core™ vPro™ technology. This means that complex issues such as OS failures and boot problems can be fixed without a desk-side visit, while the remote power on/off functionality saves energy by allowing desktops to be switched off without hindering after hours IT maintenance.

In addition, RealVNC will be demonstrating and answering questions on its popular VNC Viewer App for iOS or Android - available from the App Store or Google Play – which enables users to view and fully interact with a Mac OS X, Windows, Linux or UNIX computer from their smartphone or tablet.  This allows IT professionals to conduct maintenance remotely from anywhere and at any time - saving a journey into the office.

Also featured in the first virtual HDI event will be VNC Helpdesk SDK, a hosted solution for organisations that want all the benefits of remote support capabilities but with the added
security of self-hosting a private cloud service to simplify connection establishment where NATs and firewalls are in the way.
