Success – John completes 55km amazing endurance run in California

Keen runner John West, from VLSI Research, has raised over £1000 for Carers Trust Cambridgeshire by completing the gruelling Lake Tahoe Endurance challenge.

Running along alpine and sub-alpine forest trails and dirt roads in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the trail’s highest point was just below Snow Valley Park, which stands at 9,214 feet.

John commented of the race: “This was undoubtedly the most challenging event I have taken part in – both physically and emotionally!  At times it was extremely tough but knowing I had the support of my sponsors kept me going.

"Highlights of the experience included reaching the top of Snow Valley Peak and running through fields of lavender, which took what little breath I had completely away! It was an incredible experience and I am extremely grateful that I had the opportunity to take part."

Meanwhile the team at VLSI Cambridge is wondering what challenge John will take part in next!.

John would be delighted for any further donations to this highly worthwhile charity. His fundraising page is just a click away at: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfilePage.action?userUrl=JWest88
