Xaar, the leader in industrial inkjet technology, will be showcasing at Ceramics China 2016 its recently launched Xaar 1003 family of printheads. The new Xaar 1003 family sets a new benchmark with the longest maintenance-free production runs in the industry (Hall 8.1, Stand K303). In addition, Xaar is highlighting its digital decoration solution for the polished tile market, which is the latest ceramic tile market to take advantage of Xaar’s market-leading digital technology.

Introducing the benchmark Xaar 1003 at Ceramics China

With its all-round superior performance, high productivity, unique TF Technology® and versatility, the Xaar 1003 family of printheads builds on the market-leading Xaar 1002 and its predecessor, the original and ground-breaking Xaar 1001. The new Xaar 1003 printhead family introduces an important new feature ‒ the XaarGuard™ ‒ which provides the ultimate in nozzle plate protection and, coupled with other design innovations, achieves the longest maintenance-free production runs in the industry*.  In addition, the new Xaar 1003 provides a step forward in consistent print quality across the wide print widths due to Xaar’s new X-ACT™ Micro Electric Mechanical Systems (MEMS) manufacturing process.

Soluble salt ceramic inks for polished tiles

At this year’s Ceramics China show Xaar will highlight a new digital inkjet solution for manufacturers producing polished tiles.  Xaar and Guangdong Dowstone Technology Co Ltd worked together to optimise Dowstone’s range of Soluble Salts ceramic inks for Xaar’s 1003 printhead family. Tile manufacturers producing highly polished tiles used in commercial heavy “traffic” locations such as shopping malls and public buildings can now benefit from the advantages of digital printing as well as Xaar’s leading technology. Unlike existing hydrocarbon inks used for digital tile decoration, which mostly sit on top of the tiles, the soluble salts ceramic inks penetrate the body of the tiles so that the tiles can be polished and re-polished over and over again, and are consequently suitable for these high footfall public spaces. Tiles produced with Dowstone’s soluble salts ceramic inks will be on show at the Xaar stand.

Also on show will be tiles produced with soluble salts inks from Metco and Keda as well as some of the latest tile designs printed with Xaar printheads and inks from Colorobbia, Fritta and Esmalglass-itaca.

On-booth educational seminars

Xaar’s popular on-booth seminars, which take place daily, will return to Ceramics China 2016.  This year’s topics include the polished tile digital solution and also an overview of the Xaar 1003.
