'Carlos Fuentes: colloquium and celebration' filmed by WaveFX

In the framework of the Year of Mexico in the UK 2015, the Government of Mexico partnered with Emmanuel College, Cambridge, and the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University to honour the Mexican author Carlos Fuentes.

To pay tribute and honour to the literary work of the prolific Mexican writer, diplomat and intellectual, Carlos Fuentes, a seminar was celebrated in Cambridge and a commemorative plaque was unveiled at the residence where he lived in London. WaveFX, a local video production company, was commissioned by the Embassy of Mexico to film the daylong event and edit the presentations.

Mr Fuentes - Simon Bolivar Professor at Cambridge University in 1986-1987 - was one of the most admired writers in the Spanish language. He wrote plays, short stories, political nonfiction and novels, many of them chronicles of tangled love.

He wrote a large part of his work in London, where he spent long periods of time between 1968 and 2012.

Jackeline Orozco Gutiérrez, Human Rights Officer, Mexican Embassy UK commented: "Thank you very much for the great job you did filming the seminar “Carlos Fuentes: coloquio y celebración” You were really polite from the moment we inquired about prices till the moment you provided us with the final product.

"We really appreciate you and your team staying the extra minutes that the ceremony lengthened and your enthusiasm the whole time. We look forward working with you in future occasions"
