The 28 branches of Nationwide have been supporting East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) as their charity partner. They have raised an impressive £16,000 – which is enough to pay for a day’s worth of the services and care provided by EACH across East Anglia, both at the charity’s three hospices in Ipswich, Quidenham in Norfolk and Milton in Cambridgeshire, at families homes and in the community.

The tremendous amount has been raised by staff in the branches through a range of fundraising activities including book sales, dress down days, sponsored activities and taking part in planned EACH events.

Andrew Westhead, Area Director at Nationwide Building Society, said: “We are delighted to be supporting EACH as our chosen charity partner in East Anglia in 2016. The work EACH do to support children and families in our local area is truly inspiring and we are proud to be able to help support this. Our branches have all really got behind EACH and have worked so hard organising their own fundraising activities – we’re thrilled to have raised our goal of £16,000. Thank you to all our Nationwide members and colleagues that have supported their local branch and this very worthy cause.”

The EACH Pay for a Day scheme encourages groups and organisations to raise the £5,300 per hospice needed every day to keep services and care running in the county free of charge for children, young people and their families who live with life-threatening conditions. The £16,000 raised by Nationwide is enough to fund care and support EACH provides across the whole of the region for one day.

The chosen day for Nationwide Building Society to fund is Tuesday 13th December.

Sophie Mayes, EACH Norfolk Corporate Fundraiser, said: “It is such a pleasure to be working with Nationwide and we are so grateful for their support. The fantastic amount they have raised is inspirational and will go towards the vital care and services that EACH provides to children and young people with life-threatening conditions and their families across the whole of the region.”

“Nationwide is a high street name so having 28 branches supporting us as charity partner has not only raised valuable funds but also raised awareness of the work we do. We’d like to thank everyone at Nationwide for really getting behind EACH – your support is so valuable to the families we care for.”
