Some people just seem to have an inspired vision and a way of choosing beautiful things – so meet childhood friends Georgie Mitchell and Lizzie Griggs (aka Oxbow and Peach), who have created a true emporium of vintage loveliness.

Having always been certified jackdaws and collectors of unique and unusual objects for the home, a house sale back in 2010 was the point at which the two friends turned accidental entrepreneurs.

From this, they took their eclectic range of stock to various fairs and then finally to their current and very fitting home at The Old School in Whittlesford.
After renovating the interior of this Victorian building, the ladies turned it into their showroom – ready to receive the wonders of their foraging trips.

Gorgeous glass and table ware, colourful cushions and retro kitchenalia nestle alongside original art and Indian metal ware. The mix is more unusual than the traditional twee take on vintage, and up-cycling and repurposing is an important aspect in making the Oxbow and Peach statement.

The ladies still take the show on the road – the dates of the fairs they attend are listed on their website, but Fridays and Saturdays are when you can visit them in their Old School – the perfect place for old friends to be found.

Open Fridays and Saturdays only 10am-5pm
