Just outside Cambridge is the beautifully and sympathetically restored Stapleford Granary – an amazing study centre for arts, music and culture, run by The ACE Foundation, whose mission is to get people participating.

Each year, the Granary hosts an incredible programme of concerts and courses in the stunning granary hall – a multi-use space which also accommodates lectures and exhibitions.

Music courses are open to musicians of all ages, from beginners to advanced level. All you need is to have a creative mind and a thirst for learning. Additionally, the centre houses a recording studio, seminar rooms, offices and workshops, providing an inspiring space to join in and get creative.

A great example of this can be found among the converted out-buildings, where space has been created to host the Cambridge Woodwind Makers Trust. Under the guidance of expert Daniel Bangham, the aim is to train future generations in the art and craft of woodwind instrument making. Courses at the workshop range from woodwind repair, five-key flute and recorder making.

Stapleford Granary’s list of art courses includes drawing, textiles, stained glass, mixed media and jewellery. Visit the website to find out more about upcoming courses and events.
