Tier 2 Consulting is now a Crown Commercial Supplier (CCS) within Cloud Support on the Digital Marketplace, where buyers can find cloud support services to help them set up and maintain cloud software and PaaS solutions.

Commenting on their new status as a CCS and inclusion on the G-Cloud 9 platform, Tier 2 Managing Director Andy Kennedy said “OpenShift integrates all of the architecture, processes, platforms, and services needed to empower development and operations teams. As the UK's only Red Hat Premier Middleware Partner we are delighted to be supporting OpenShift on G-Cloud 9 and look forward to helping organisations exploit OpenShift's capabilities to create the ideal cloud computing service tailored for applications, integration or mobile.

"The Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform Design and Implementation Consultancy services can be used by organisations across the UK public sector including central government, local government, health, education, devolved administrations, emergency services, defence and not-for-profit organisations.”

Support and technical consulting will be offered in two formats:

Firstly, through a series of workshops with customer developer and operations teams, Tier 2 identifies and documents a set of requirements (both functional and non-functional). The team uses these requirements to determine an appropriate OpenShift installation and a detailed plan for its implementation.

Alternatively, clients can choose to take part on the Tier 2 OpenShift Kickstarter Program, where clients get invaluable hands-on expertise developing containerised applications in a live cloud environment, building developer pipelines to show multifunctional teams how Devops and container management are the enablers to commercial success.

Full details of the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform Design and Implementation Consultancy services offered by Tier 2 can be found on the Digital Marketplace.

About Crown Commercial Services

The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) has brought together Government’s central commercial capability into a single organisation, amalgamating Government Procurement Service with other commercial teams from the Cabinet Office and central government departments. CCS is an executive agency of the Cabinet Office and operates as a trading fund under the Government Trading Funds Act 1973.

Their remit is to work with both departments and organisations across the whole of the public sector to ensure maximum value is extracted from every commercial relationship and improve the quality of service delivery.

The CCS goal is to become the “go-to” place for expert commercial and procurement services.

With both service delivery and advisory capability, services include contract management and supplier performance management to ensure that the Government acts as a true, single customer; freeing up individual organisations to focus their procurement expertise on what is unique to them.
