The agency will be supporting the charity, pro-bono, both on a strategic level and through a public relations and marketing programme, which will aim to raise the profile of the charity’s work.

Red Balloon supports young people who self-exclude from school due to past experiences, such as being subjected to bullying, or other traumas. Originally set up in 1996, the charity opened its first centre in Cambridge. Now in its 21st year, the charity hosts four centres, in Cambridge, Norwich, Harrow, and Reading. Red Balloon has also set up an online ‘centre’ – Red Balloon of the Air – to expand the charity’s provision to meet a growing need, combining online teaching and therapy with in person mentoring to achieve the same results as are seen in the physical Red Balloon centres.

It is due to the inspiring nature of the charity’s work that the team at Conscious Communications has chosen to dedicate time this year to working with the charity to enable more young people to make use of Red Balloon’s facilities. The charity’s values are closely aligned with those of the company’s. With a growing reputation for providing PR and marketing solutions for education and charity clients, the agency is looking forward to making a real difference with Red Balloon.

Conscious Communications is dedicated to giving back to the community, whether that be locally or further afield. Through its charitable initiative, each team member is gifted two days per year to work with a charity of their choice. The aim of this pro-bono work is to provide charities with PR and marketing expertise that they might not have the resources to seek otherwise, or to simply spend time supporting teams in the community as they undertake essential roles. Charities that have benefited from the team’s work to date include the PCA Benevolent Fund, Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust, Godmanchester Foodbank, Carers’ Trust Cambridgeshire, Contact the Elderly and Age UK Cambridgeshire.
