Darktrace, the leader in Enterprise Immune System technology, has today announced that it is joining the UK Prime Minister, Theresa May, on a trade mission to Japan this week led by Secretary of State for International Trade, Liam Fox.

Darktrace’s CEO EMEA, Poppy Gustafsson, is one of a select group of business leaders to accompany the Prime Minister on the three-day trip to Japan. The trade mission comes at an important moment for Japan’s national security, as the country prepares for several major events including The Rugby World Cup in 2019 and the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2020.

“Cyber security is paramount for organizations in Japan, as they face an increasingly challenging threat landscape, particularly in the run-up to several major international events,” commented Poppy Gustafsson, CEO, EMEA, Darktrace. “I am delighted to join this mission to strengthen the UK’s relationship with Japan and look forward to discussing how machine learning and AI can radically improve the defence of governments and businesses from tomorrow’s sophisticated cyber-attacks.”

Darktrace continues to grow its presence in Japan, with customers including engineering giant, Chiyoda Corporation; international insurance firm, AEGON Sony Life Insurance; leading forex brokers; Rakuten Securities Inc. and one of the country’s largest critical infrastructure companies. The company also recently announced a strategic partnership with NEC Networks & System Integration Corporation (NESIC).
