Telco systems expert uses Antigena for autonomous response in the cloud

Darktrace, the world leader in machine learning technology for cyber defence, has today announced that Canadian telecommunications expert TRJ Telecom has deployed its proven AI technology to defend the company’s distributed infrastructure, including its Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environment.

Darktrace’s ability to detect and autonomously respond to emerging threats enables TRJ Telecom to protect its intellectual property, safeguard its sensitive customer data, and defend its critical infrastructure.

“Before deploying Darktrace, we were faced with a formidable cyber security challenge: how to defend our expansive on-premise and cloud infrastructure against sophisticated, unknown threats,” commented Damien Marle, Director of IT and IS, TRJ Telecom. “The Enterprise Immune System is the only AI-driven solution able to offer early threat detection and autonomous response capabilities across the entire network, regardless of how it is configured. When we activated Darktrace’s cloud sensors, it was like flipping on a switch in a dark room.”

Powered by machine learning and AI algorithms, Darktrace works by learning a ‘pattern of life’ for every user and device on TRJ Telecom’s network. From this adaptive understanding of ‘self’, it can then identify and stop in-progress cyber-threats at their earliest stages, irrespective of their point of origin. Additionally, Darktrace’s technology provides unmatched visibility into TRJ Telecom’s AWS environment through lightweight sensors that perform the same autonomous threat detection and response.

“Modern organizations require overall visibility of virtual environments and the cloud in addition to the traditional, physical estate,” commented David Masson, Country Manager for Canada, Darktrace. “Darktrace’s innovative AI technology empowers organisations like TRJ Telecom to detect and autonomously respond to early-stage cyber-threats, supporting scalability without negatively impacting server performance.”
