Mills & Reeve wins 15th 'best company' award in a row

Leading national law firm Mills & Reeve has been named 56th in The Sunday Times 'Best 100 Companies to Work For' list for the 15th year running.

Mills & Reeve is the only law firm and one of a handful of companies to have secured a place on the prestigious list, seen by many as the most comprehensive analysis of workplace engagement, opinion and satisfaction in the UK, for 15 consecutive years. The Sunday Times quoted the firm as “…the model of a modern major law firm, dedicated to new thinking and expansion.”

The Best 100 Companies survey found that 82 per cent of Mills & Reeve employees have confidence in the skills of senior leaders and that nearly three quarters of staff felt they have managers who “listen as well as tell”.

The survey also highlighted that women outnumbered men by two to one in Mills & Reeve, something fairly unthinkable when the firm was established in 1880.

Claire Clarke, Mills & Reeve managing partner, said: “It’s an amazing testament to our firm that we have secured our place on the list for 15 years running. We work hard to ensure all our people have opportunities to grow and develop, not just in their role, but personally as well.

“Our 2020 strategy is underpinned by recognising our people are one of the most important assets. We work hard to create a culture where everyone feels that they contribute and can make a difference.”

The firm recently carried out its biennial staff survey, with 97 per cent of staff saying they would recommend working at the firm to their friends and family.

“Whether a partner or a secretary, a director or a trainee lawyer, your opinion will be listened to and acted upon,” added Sandy Boyle, director of human resources at Mills & Reeve.

The announcement comes shortly after Mills & Reeve was named Firm of the Year by legal sector news website RollOnFriday.
