It’s a full house for Sawston’s Iconix Park

Property investor and developer Howard Group has let the last existing building at Iconix Park, bringing the estate to full occupancy for the first time in a decade.

The latest occupier to sign up is global technology company Telensa, who will move into the newly refurbished Iconix 3 building comprising c 13,000 sq ft. Telensa was founded in 2005 and is a world leader in delivering wireless smart city control systems, including the world’s most deployed smart streetlight solution.

Will Franks, chief executive officer at Telensa, said: “We are delighted to be moving to Iconix 3 early next year. Telensa is experiencing rapid international growth, with revenues up over 50% in each of the past two years, and this new HQ will be the focal point for our expanding operation.”

Colin Brown, development manager at Howard Group, said: “We are pleased to welcome Telensa to Iconix 3, to complete the existing Iconix Park line-up. As a global leader in its sector, this addition to the estate strengthens Sawston’s presence as a hub for forward-thinking businesses leading the way in their fields. With all units now occupied, we’re excited about the next phase of development.”

Plans are now in place for development of new R&D/office and lab facilities on the adjacent land.

Howard Group acquired Iconix Park, which lies in the heart of the Cambridge Science and Technology Cluster in late 2013. A comprehensive programme of refurbishment and re-letting means that the park is now home to Biocair, Transforming Pathology Partnership, Iontas, AQDot and Telensa. Further land (with planning) is available for pre-let development of between 20,000 and 150,000 sq ft.
