Cambridge proves a magnet for Magna

The Cambridge cluster continues to attract world-class companies keen to make the most of the wealth of skills, universities and research institutions found in the region. The latest to establish a presence here is leading automotive supplier Magna International, which has taken space at the Maxwell Centre on the West Cambridge site.

Ian Simmons, VP Business Development and R&D at Magna, says: "Magna R&D in pleased to take residence in the Maxwell Centre in Cambridge.  As the third largest global automotive supplier, Magna continues to invest and support innovation that will impact future mobility and next-generation manufacturing.

"The Cambridge ecosystem is an ideal location for Magna’s UK R&D management as we seek solutions to future technology challenges."

Cambridge Network's event manager Louise Rushworth, who has worked with Magna on a number of joint activities, adds: “Magna has now been a Cambridge Network member for over a year and we have been instrumental in introducing them to several key companies in and around Cambridge. It is great news that they’ve chosen to take an office in the Maxwell Centre and we look forward to doing more business with their team in the future.”

Magna and Cambridge Network are both industrial partners of the Maxwell Centre and spoke at their showcase event at the end of March.
