Biocair on the move to Iconix Park

Howard Group is very pleased to announce that Biocair, the Cambridge-based global logistics specialist dedicated to the pharmaceutical, biotech and life science industries, is taking 11,500 sq ft of grade A office space at Iconix Park, Sawston.

The healthcare experts have taken three quarters of the available space at Iconix 1, a two-storey, high specification contemporary building located close to the M11 to the south of Cambridge.  In addition, Biocair has also taken a warehouse unit of 4,500 sq ft on the adjacent Sawston Trade Park.

Acquired by Howard Group in late 2013, Iconix Park consists of buildings Iconix 1, 2 and 3. It is now an established Cambridge business location in the heart of the Cambridge Science and Technology Cluster. The Park represents an exciting opportunity to build on the existing bio-medical and laboratory presence both in Sawston and the other south Cambridge locations.

Howard Group has planning consent already granted for a further 3.5 acre expansion of the estate to provide a total of over 100,000 sq ft of high specification office, R&D and laboratory facilities to complement their existing investment.  The Group also owns and manages the adjacent Sawston Trade Park which consists of warehousing and trade counter units.

Colin Brown, development manager at Howard Group commented: “South Cambridge is fast becoming one of the most attractive locations in Europe for life science businesses due to the surrounding infrastructure, network of like-minded businesses and the availability of skilled labour.  Iconix Park lies in the heart of a thriving concentration of organisations such as the Addenbrookes Biomedical Campus, Babraham Research Campus, the Welcome Trust Genome Campus and many others.  We expect shortly to be able to release news of further occupiers for the Park to join Xention and Biocair and look forward to the next phase of this exciting development of the estate.”
