Motorvogue success expands dealership offering in Bedford

Howard Group has secured planning consent for the final phase of development of Interchange Park in Bedford. Working in collaboration with its existing tenant Motorvogue, the new permission paves the way for the extension of the existing multi-brand dealership and the construction of a new Renault and Dacia showroom with a significant used car sales area.

The new addition to the retail park will support the relocation of the original Renault and Dacia franchise from Clapham to Bedfordshire, closer to the centre of the town. An agreement has been signed and construction will shortly be underway and will bring further jobs and investment to the town. This will build on Motorvogue’s current premises which comprises 11,000 sq ft, plus an external display area for 120 cars and a vehicle preparation and servicing centre of 6,000 sq ft. Motorvogue Bedford is a multi-brand dealership which already offers new car sales from Fiat, Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, Seat and Hyundai.

Jon Pochin, managing director at Motorvogue, said: “Building on the huge success we’ve enjoyed at Interchange Park, we’re excited to bring a new Renault and Dacia showroom to the area. Our expansion marks another key milestone and will support further growth of the business.”

Colin Brown, director of portfolio development at Howard Group, said: “We have owned this site for a number of years and we’re proud to see our tenants flourishing in the location. As Motorvogue completes the jigsaw at Interchange Park, we are very proud of the whole development and our continuing contribution to Bedford. Howard Group was founded in the town and continues to be heavily invested in the area.”

Howard Group acquired the freehold land at Interchange Park from the Southill Estate in 2011. It has since developed the site to include national brands such as B&Q, Costa Coffee, M&S and Motorvogue.
