Biomed cluster credentials enhanced at Iconix Park

A significant deal has been completed with Transforming Pathology Partnership (TPP), which takes Iconix One to full occupancy and further enhances the BioMed community in Sawston.

The 4,000 sq.ft of Grade A space on the ground floor will be home to more than 30 members of staff who will manage the pathology services across six NHS Trusts in the East of England. TPP was formed in May 2014 and with the aim of delivering significant efficiencies and benefits for patients, hospitals and GP surgeries.

Matthew Bullock, chairman of TPP, commented: “We manage pathology labs across six hospitals in East Anglia, from Colchester and Ipswich in the South East to Hinchingbrooke and Stevenage in the North West. So getting a site that was central, well connected to the motorways and was also close to the specialist facilities of Addenbrooke’s was critical. Iconix 1 was just the right location.”

Colin Brown, development manager at Howard Group, commented: “Iconix Park further strengthens our Cambridge portfolio. It’s also important that we play our part in supporting the key sectors driving the Cambridge economy.”

Howard Group is continuing to invest in Iconix Park through a comprehensive refurbishment of the Iconix Two building. The significant investment in the cluster will provide the best possible working environment for companies in the biomedical sector. The rest of Iconix One is occupied by clinical trial logistics company Biocair.
