Health Enterprise East partners with University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust

Health Enterprise East (HEE) is pleased to announce its newest member trust, University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.

HEE works with both NHS organisations and medtech companies globally. By partnering with NHS member trusts like University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, HEE helps identify, develop and commercialise pioneering innovations created by staff working within the NHS for the benefit of patients, staff and society. HEE currently works with over 26 NHS member trusts in England. The company added Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust (GOSH) as a member earlier this year and are steadily gaining presence throughout the UK.

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust provides services to 1.9 million people living in Southampton and south Hampshire, plus specialist services such as neurosciences, cardiac services and children's intensive care to more than 3.7 million people in central southern England and the Channel Islands.

Nael Clarke, Commercial Director University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust said: “Through working with HEE, our staff will now have access to experts that can provide advice, insight and funding to help convert innovative ideas in to viable medtech products or consultancy service offerings. The Trust is a major centre for teaching and research in association with the University of Southampton and partners including the Medical Research Council and Wellcome Trust. We look forward to working with HEE and using our research to help create medical technology products that can solve problems and change both staff and patients lives for the better.”

HEE has also expanded its NHS Innovation Team with the promotion of Tim Fishlock to Head of Technology Transfer and appointment of Rhanda Tajdeen as Innovation Manager. Both Tim and Rhanda are supporting innovators with intellectual property protection and commercialisation.
