Ieso crowned Business of the Year at the Cambridge Business Weekly Awards

Ieso Digital Health was named Business of the Year at last night’s Cambridge Business Weekly Awards. Ieso - which provides live, one-to-one, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) online on behalf of the NHS and some of America’s biggest healthcare providers - was awarded the accolade during the prestigious annual ceremony, hosted at Queens’ College, during which it was also shortlisted for the AI Innovation award.

The business joins previous winners including ARM, Darktrace, AVEVA and others in a prestigious hall of fame

The awards celebrate the world class innovation and technology businesses that are growing in the East of England, many of which are being recognised on a global scale.

Ieso’s Business of the Year award sees it inducted into a hall of fame alongside other well-respected global businesses, including Darktrace, ARM, Ryanair, Autonomy and AVEVA, all of which have gone on to become multi-billion dollar companies.

The Business of the Year title was awarded to Ieso for its use technology to improve mental health outcomes around the world. Specifically Ieso was lauded for being the first mental health service to use artificial intelligence to improve mental health treatment and also for the potential the organisation shows to improve the lives of people suffering from mental health conditions on a global scale.

The award win marks the latest achievement in what is already a strong year for Ieso, coming shortly after the news that Artificial Intelligence was successfully integrated into its therapist platform for the first time.

This enables Ieso’s therapists in the UK and US to receive data-led insights about each patient during the assessment stage of treatment, providing them with predictions of a patient's presenting condition, severity of presentation and likelihood of completing a full course of therapy.

It is the first time that AI has been deployed in this way scale, and gives clinicians the best chance of making an accurate, evidence-based diagnosis, and enables the delivery of more effective treatment.

Andy Blackwell, Chief Science Officer at Ieso says: “Winning Business of the Year at the awards is a huge honour for Ieso, and we’re thrilled to be included in such a prestigious hall of fame that recognises some of the best businesses in the East of England. These awards help us to put the area on the map as we look to attract and inspire other innovative businesses who may want to call the area home.”

Sarah Bateup, Chief Clinical Officer continues “The whole Ieso team has been working tirelessly to find new ways through data science and artificial intelligence to help change the face of mental healthcare – something that we feel passionately about. Winning this award will only spur us on! We would like to extend our gratitude to the judging panel, who selected Ieso.”
