Day 2: Saturday 10th June, 9.15am - 3pm
What is a Hackathon?
A hackathon is a fast-paced and collaborative event that brings together individuals with diverse skill sets and backgrounds to work together on developing new ideas, products, or solutions to a specific problem or challenge.
Allia Hackathon: Tackling poverty and inequality in Cambridge
This hackathon will challenge you to come up with innovative and creative solutions that align with our theme of tackling poverty and inequality in Cambridge.
Throughout the 2 days you will work in teams and use your collective skills, creativity, and knowledge to generate and test your ideas, supported by mentors and experts’ speakers.
At the end of the 2-day event, you and your team (come with friends or come make new ones) will have created a pitch for a prototype solution to solving poverty and inequality in Cambridge. You will pitch this idea to a panel of judges to win a top prize of £500 to spend towards building your solution/business. Second prize of £250 for the peoples’ choice award!
Don't miss this opportunity to collaborate with other innovators, learn new skills, and create solutions that make a difference in your community. Register now to secure your spot at the Social Innovation Hackathon - building a better Cambridge!
Who is the event for?
If you are interested in starting your own social enterprise, charity or impact organisation in Cambridge, or just passionate about making a positive impact in your community - this event is the perfect opportunity for you to collaborate with others, learn new skills, and create solutions that can make a real difference.
Don’t worry about coming with an idea or even having teammates. You are welcome to join us as an individual as teams will be formed over the course of the hackathon.
We also welcome established social enterprises and charities to attend to gather inspiration, explore new or existing ideas for the business, or to just learn/seek advice from our expert team.
What is a Social Enterprise? - a business that is driven by a social or environmental mission and reinvests its profits into creating positive social change.
